Mumbai (Maharashtra), Oct 26 (NT): National Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar took on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his "Nehru-Gandhi family" crack at the grand old Congress party and stated that the family has sacrificed a lot for the nation.

Urging Prime Minister Modi to have down patted the sacrifices made by the Congress party since the Independence, Pawar said that in every public rally, Modi ji says that one family ruled this nation.

He added that the Gandhi family has sacrificed a lot for this country and Jawaharlal Nehru went to jail so many times. He insisted everyone knows how Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi were killed in cold blood.

Taking a dig at PM Modi he said, PM Modi had promised the citizens the dreams of development but he has nothing to say as to what extent these dreams have been realized, so he only talk about the one family.

Worth mention here Pawar had earlier attacked Prime Minister Modi over the controversial Rafale jets deal between India and France and demanded a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to investigate into the contract.
