Thiruvananthapuram: Senior Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP from Thiruvananthapuram seat of Kerala, Shashi Tharoor has again praised PM Modi. He praised PM Modi for having increased BJP's vote percentage in 2019 as compared to 2014.
Tharoor's tweets in the past had sought clarifications on PM Modi's praises. Senior Congress leader Tharoor said, PM Modi has brought the BJP's vote percentage to 37 per cent in 2019 as compared to 31 per cent in 2014 across the country.
As a party, the Congress should understand why it got only 19 per cent of the votes. Modi has done little to applaud, but despite this, he has been able to increase his vote percentage across the country. Shashi Tharoor, in his earlier statement, said, "As you know, I have been arguing for six years that Modi should be commended whenever he says something good or does the right thing." After doing so, when we criticise his mistakes, the credibility of what we say will increase.
I welcome those from the Opposition who are talks similar to my opinion. After his remarks, the Kerala Chief of the Congress had sought clarifications from him. Tharoor had replied to him. Satisfied with this, Kerala Unite President Mulapalli Ramachandra decided not to take any action against him.
