Thiruvananthapuram: Congress party which is going through leadership crisis is looking for a wondrous leader. In a recent statement, Congress veteran Shashi Tharoor has demanded the dissolution of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), a committee considered the backbone of the party.

Shashi Tharoor has admitted that the decisions being taken by CWC members are not proving to be beneficial for the party. It should include young and sharp faces by dissolving it completely. After Rahul Gandhi resigned as Congress President, Shashi Tharoor has demanded the appointment of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as the new President. Tharoor has said that the party needs a new and popular face, so that the enthusiasm among the activists comes.

Tharoor says Priyanka Gandhi fits for the presidency. The BJP has been consistently accusing the Congress of familyism. If Priyanka appoints the Congress president, the BJP may be more aggressive on the issue. Rahul Gandhi has resigned as the Speaker taking responsibility for the party's defeat in the Lok Sabha elections.
