Mumbai: The Shiv Sena on Friday demanded immediate relief to farmers affected by unseasonal rains in many parts, amid protests from the alliance partner Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the formation of a new government in Maharashtra. In the editorial of Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamana, Shiv Sena has written that the farmers whose crops have been damaged should be given adequate compensation without any condition.

It has been said in the confrontation that the farmers of the state are not waiting for the new government but for immediate help. It said that farmers were troubled by drought for the past several years, now troubled by the rain because a fortnight has passed since the monsoon has ended, but the rain is not stopping. Due to the continuous rains for the past one month, all the produce of the farmers has deteriorated. In Saamna's editorial, the BJP was attacked, it says that instead of standing with the farmers, they are focused on mobilizing support to form the government.
