Shocking news has come from the Lahaul Spiti Valley for wildlife lovers. Two young men of the valley have captured two snow leopards in mobile from very close. It is being claimed that this is the closest case of humans ever encountered with Snow Leopard. A video of this rare animal was captured on mobile by Nawang of Kaumik village and Sushil Yangthangi of Lahaul on Kaza-Kaumik road at around 5.30 pm. This video of snow leopards is becoming very viral on social media. The two youths were returning to Kazaa, leaving the riders of Asia's highest village, Kaumik. Nawang said that he was suddenly confronted by two snow leopards near a bend about 20 km from Kaza. At first, they thought that both would run away after seeing the vehicle, but a snow leopard started coming towards the car.

The second Snow Leopard remained away. While Sushil Yangthangi said that he was scared at first, but after some time Snow Leopard slowly moved forward amidst the snow. Abhishek, the project associate of the United National Development Program, claims that this is the first time that someone has seen a snow leopard so closely and has been captured on camera. Abhishek said that this incident shows that those who never used to come in the eyes of humans, now fearless have started coming very close to them. The Snow Leopard Conservation Project has been started for the first time under the United National Development Program to save this wildlife.

Only 516 snow leopards in India
According to the Wildlife Wing, there are about 516 snow leopards in India. These rare animals are found in Himachal, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and Sikkim. The four states are the base of Snow Leopard. About 90 snow leopards are reported in Himachal. Around 5 to 7 thousand snow leopards are reported in the world. The snow leopard is found in 12 countries of the world including China, Russia, Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Mongolia, and India are present.
