New Delhi: Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra strongly condemned the killing of seven civilians by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir in the past few days. She said on Friday that the Central government should take quick steps to ensure the safety of the residents of Jammu and Kashmir. Priyanka tweeted, "The increasing attacks on our Kashmiri sisters and brothers by terrorists are painful and condemnable. We are all with our Kashmiri sisters and brothers in this difficult time.''

Priyanka Gandhi stressed that the Union Government should take immediate stringent steps to ensure the safety of all citizens. On the other hand, Priyanka's tweet has been hit out by some users asking if you will go to Kashmir as consoled as Lakhimpur. Rajendra Kumar has written, 'Why don't you go there (Kashmir) and meet the families of the victims? Perhaps you will not get votes there like Lakhimpur.' Rashmi Yadav wrote, "The people of Kashmir are still bearing the brunt of the negative policies of the Useless Congress, in 1990, when the people of Kashmir were being wreaked havoc by fundamentalists with the support of separatists, the Gandhi family remained a mute spectator and continues to be there, will Priyanka not go there to share the pain of the people?'

In Jammu and Kashmir, two teachers of a government school, including a woman headmaster, were shot dead by militants in the Idgah area of Srinagar on Thursday amid increased attacks on civilians. Seven civilians have been killed in the valley in the last five days, six of whom have been killed in the city.
