Chandigarh: After Amarinder Singh's resignation, there are different reports about the next CM in Punjab. Earlier, the party high command wanted senior leader Ambika Soni to be the next CM though Ambika categorically refused. Now there are only a few names in the list of CM, though union minister Prahlad Joshi has earlier hit out at the Congress' rise. Recently, he said, "Fearing Amarinder Singh's growing popularity, the Congress has removed him from the CM post.''

In fact, recently, Union Minister Joshi said, "Captain Amarinder Singh is a popular leader. He was removed because the party felt that Amarinder Singh was becoming more popular than Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. Those who themselves are in so much trouble are questioning us. They have no need to answering.'' Let me tell all of you that the Congress Legislature Party meeting in Punjab today has been postponed for the time being. On the other hand, party MLA Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said, "A decision on the name of the new Chief Minister of Punjab will be taken within the next 2 to 3 hours.''

Let me tell all of you that Congress MP Ambika Soni has rejected the party high command's proposal to become the Chief Minister of Punjab. In fact, she says, "She does not want to become the Chief Minister at the moment and only one Sikh should be made a chief minister in Punjab.''
