Amritsar: Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh, who returned to Chandigarh from Delhi on Wednesday night without meeting the Congress high command, is also not taking the name of easing his troubles. Congress Working President Sonia Gandhi, who refused to meet CM Amarinder, has publicly issued strict instructions to the Captain to fulfil her election promises in the remaining 8 months of the government.

In such a situation, cm Amarinder faces a tough challenge to fulfil his election promises in such a short span of time. In fact, CM Amarinder expected Sonia or Rahul Gandhi to give him time to meet him on Wednesday, but Sonia Gandhi did not give time to the captain, while Rahul Gandhi met several senior Congress leaders in Punjab but did not give time to the captain. Based on the feedback received from Congress MLAs and MPs, the top Congress leadership is angry with the Captain because the Captain's government has failed to fulfil its election promises in four and a half years.

The failure of the Captain's Government to bring the accused to justice and eliminate drugs, especially in the case of the cruelty of religious texts, is more a victim of the Congressmen in Punjab than the opposition. In the second round of meetings for the last three days before a three-member senior leaders' committee headed by Mallikarjun Kharge constituted by the Congress high command, mlAs and MPs raised the issue of how they would go to the people of Punjab for the 2022 assembly elections in the event of non-fulfilment of election promises.
