Sri Lanka cancels Imran Khan's speech in Parliament to avoid clash with India

Sri Lanka has cancelled a scheduled speech of Prime Minister Imran Khan in Parliament in order to avoid clash with India.
According to a report, Srilanka cannot risk its relations with India when it is getting stuck in the Chinese debt-trap and India being the saviour for the world for distributing corona vaccines.

There have been anti-Muslim sentiments in Sri Lanka for past months as Buddhist people have been protesting on issues such as animal sacrifices in mosques. It is expected that Imran Khan would have used the Muslim card during his visit to Sri Lanka. He had played the same card during his visit to Afghanistan last year.

India and Srilanka shared a good bond. India has recently gifted 5 lakh doses of Covishield vaccines to Sri Lanka. Besides Srilanka, India has so far supplied vaccines to Bhutan, Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar, Mauritius, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, the UAE, Brazil, Morocco, Bahrain, Oman, Egypt, Algeria, Kuwait and South Africa. After sending vaccines to many neighbouring countries, India sent 13 boxes of corona vaccine to Mongolia on Sunday.
