Maharashtra: Strict lockdown imposed in 61 villages of this district

Mumbai: The ever-increasing cases of corona are shocking now! Maharashtra currently has the highest number of cases and in view of the increasing number of cases, 61 villages in Ahmednagar district, about 122 kilometres from Pune, locked down till October 13. Recently, Rajendra Bhosale, District Collector, Ahmednagar, Maharashtra said that lockdown has been imposed in these villages of Akole, Karjat, Kopargaon, Nevasa, Parner, Pathardi, Rahata, Sangamner, Shevagaon, Srigonda and Serampor tehsils.

At the same time, he said, "500-800 cases are being reported daily in the district and the positivity rate is more than 5 percent. Therefore, instructions were issued to implement precautionary measures in villages with more than 10 active cases. Since the protocol was not being fully followed, we have imposed strict restrictions in 61 villages in 11 tehsils of the district. According to the order issued by him, "All shops except essential items like medical stores, clinics and diagnostic labs will remain closed from October 4 to October 13, while the gathering of more than 5 people in these villages has been banned as well as entry and exit restrictions have been imposed.''

Further, the order also said, "Emergency services, transportation of agricultural produce and other essential services have been excluded. Grocery stores have been allowed to operate between 8 am and 11 am. All religious places and schools will remain closed during this period."
