New Delhi: The country's largest court has announced a major relief for doctors in an important decision on Monday. The court has made it clear in its order that the doctors working under the state government will be given reservation in the admission of PG course.

Let us tell you that the Medical Council of India (MCI) has been opposed to granting this kind of reservation since the beginning, but the court refused to accept their views. The apex court said that the state government has the right to grant reservation in PG admission to government doctors working in remote areas and the Medical Council of India has no right to interfere in this right of the state government.

The court further said that the doctors who are serving in the state government hospital after doing MBBS and they want to take admission in any PG course, then they will definitely get reservation in it. Let us tell you that MCI is a statutory body which does not have the authority to make provision for reservation. Whereas state governments have the legislative capacity to make special provisions for reservation. The court said that for those who get admission in PG through this reservation, government regulations should be provided for working in rural / remote areas.
