New Delhi: Hijab case, which started from Karnataka, is constantly in the headlines. The petitions related to this are being heard in the apex court. The matter was also heard on Monday (September 12) today. During this, Justice Hemant Gupta has indicated to complete its hearing by September 16. The petitions seeking permission to hijab in schools and colleges in Karnataka have been asked to complete the arguments by September 14.

On Monday, while hearing petitions related to Karnataka's hijab case, the apex court also asked the Karnataka government to present its stand in the matter. The top court has also given the state government two days to file its reply. Earlier, the hearing of the Karnataka Hijab case was held on 8 September.

The Supreme Court on Thursday advised the petitioners in the Karnataka hijab ban case not to compare the practices of Muslims and Sikhs, saying that it is not right to compare the practices of Sikhism as Sikhs are well integrated into the country's culture. The Supreme Court, while hearing a joint hearing of several petitions challenging the Karnataka High Court's decision refusing to lift the ban on the hijab in educational institutions, said that Sikhism has five K-Kesh, Kada, Kangha, Kachha and Kirpan-puri are well-established.
