New Delhi: The Supreme Court has pronounced a big verdict regarding the rights of women in the Indian Army. The court said in its decision that the appointment of women officers in the army is considered an evolutionary process. In this regard, the court has also reprimanded the central government that despite the SC not stopping the High Court's decision, the central government did not implement the decision of the Supreme Court. A question raised after this decision of the Supreme Court, what kind of changes will be made about women in the Indian Army?

After the decision of the Supreme Court, now women can be posted in the army at the rank of colonel or above. A female colonel can now command a battalion of 850 men. Women can be posted as Brigadier, Major General, Lieutenant General and theoretically Army Chief on the basis of their merit. However, it seems almost impossible without experience to lead many combat structures, which have been rejected for a long time. There has been no change in the status of women in combat or enemy combat roles, about which infantry, artillery, and armored corps still cannot be included. Equality of opportunity to citizens, gender justice will guide the participation of women in the army.
