New Delhi: In the gangster Vikas Dubey encounter case, the Supreme Court has ordered the UP government to take appropriate action on the recommendations of the inquiry commission. The top court has ordered Justice (retd) BS Chauhan panel's report to be put in the public domain and posted on its website. Along with this, the Supreme Court has directed to close all the petitions related to the murder of UP policemen, gangster Vikas Dubey and five others in the encounter.

In the Vikas Dubey encounter case, the top court on Friday directed the UP government to take appropriate action on the recommendations of the inquiry commission. The Supreme Court has directed to put the report of the panel in the public domain. Vikas Dubey, accused of killing eight policemen in Kanpur's Bikru village, was killed by the UP Police in an encounter. This incident created a stir all over the country.  

After which the Supreme Court set up a commission of inquiry in 2021 under the leadership of retired supreme court justice BS Chauhan. The panel had given a clean chit to the UP Police in its investigation report. The report was tabled in the UP Assembly last year. The report of the Commission was submitted to the apex court after the report got the green signal. On friday, the Supreme Court directed the UP government to take appropriate action on the recommendations of the Commission.
