SHIMLA:  In a momentous event, the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Shiv Pratap Shukla, conducted the swearing-in ceremony for three distinguished judges of the Himachal Pradesh High Court - Ranjan Sharma, Bipin Chander Negi, and Rakesh Kainthla. The ceremony took place in Shimla and was marked by its simplicity and solemnity.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Chief Justice Mamidanna Satya Ratna Sri Ramachandra Rao, lending their support to this significant milestone in the state's judiciary.

Guiding the proceedings of the oath-taking ceremony was Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, who read out the official warrant of appointment issued by the President for these esteemed judges. The Secretary to the Governor, Rajesh Sharma, oversaw the signing of the oath form by both the Governor and the newly-appointed judges.

Justice Ranjan Sharma, born on August 21, 1968, and hailing from Dharamsala, has an impressive educational background. Having attended Government School Dharamsala for his schooling, he later secured a gold medal in LL.B from Rohtak University. In December 1991, he was enrolled as an advocate and subsequently designated as a Senior Advocate in March 2019.

Justice Bipin Chander Negi, on the other hand, belongs to the Kinnaur district and is the son of a former chief secretary. His educational journey included St. Edward's School, Shimla, and Delhi Public School, RK Puram, New Delhi. He pursued B.A Economics (Honours) from Sri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, and L.L.B. from H.P University, Shimla. Enrolled as an advocate in 1994, he was designated as a Senior Advocate in 2015, boasting extensive experience in various fields of law.

Justice Rakesh Kainthla, born on May 23, 1968, in Shimla, is another distinguished addition to the High Court. His educational path led him through D.A.V. School, Lakkar Bazar, Shimla, and Government College, Sanjauli, Shimla. He completed his LL.B from H.P. University, Shimla in 1991 and was enrolled as an Advocate that same year. Since then, he has been actively practicing in diverse areas of law, earning recognition for his exceptional performance.

Justice Kainthla's exceptional legal acumen was showcased when he secured the top position in the Himachal Judicial Service Examination in 1995, a testament to his dedication and commitment to the legal profession.

This momentous occasion marks the beginning of a new chapter in the Himachal Pradesh High Court, as these three brilliant minds assume their roles as judges, ready to contribute to the state's justice system and uphold the rule of law with their expertise and wisdom.
