Bangalore: The ongoing controversy over the wearing of Hijab by Muslim girls in Karnataka schools has now reached the global level. After Malala Yousafzai, who won the Nobel Peace Prize on this issue, now the Taliban has also reacted. On Thursday (February 10, 2022), the Taliban, while supporting Muslim girl students wearing hijabs in Karnataka, praised them for standing firm to defend 'Islamic values.'

Afghanistan's Taliban leader and deputy spokesman Inamullah Samangani tweeted, "The struggle of India's Muslim girls for the hijab demonstrates that the hijab is not an Arab, Iranian, Egyptian or Pakistani culture, but an 'Islamic value.' For this, Muslim girls all over the world, especially in the 'secular world,' sacrifice themselves in many ways and protect their religious values.''

Along with this, the Taliban leader also posted a picture of 'Muskan,' a Muslim girl, who raised the slogan of 'Allah-hu-Akbar' in a school in Karnataka, on Twitter. The Taliban's tweet came just a day after Muslim students said that "the hijab is the first priority and education secondary" for them.
