Vizag Gas Leak: Former Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu urges PM Modi for Scientific Probe

Amid lockdown and corona infection, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu has demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to set up a team of scientists to investigate the gas leak case in Visakhapatnam. He wrote a letter to the Prime Minister and requested to set up a committee of scientists.

For your information, let us tell you that the National Green Tribunal (LG Polymer India Private) has been instructed to deposit an interim amount of Rs 50 crore on the gas leak case. This amount has to be deposited with the magistrate.

According to the media report, the court has also issued notice to the Center and others including LG Polymer Industry and Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). A bench headed by NGT Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel constituted a five-member committee of Justice B Sheshasan Reddy to investigate the incident. They have to submit a report before 18 May.
