Not only that, the teacher of Bala Vidya Bhawan, a school in Chennai, who was accused of sexual rape by several students and booked under sections POCSO, has also been taken into custody. The arrest done after several school students took to social media to share their personal experiences of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behaviour by the teacher between offline and online classes.
The teacher has been booked under Section 12 of pocso Act and sections 67, 67 (A), 354 (A) and 509 of IT Act. The famous commerce teacher from Chennai has been sent to judicial custody. Police has took him into custody today and file a petition for questioning. His laptop and mobile phone have also been seized during the search of the house. "The school always has zero tolerance against any inappropriate behaviour that hurts the physical, emotional of our students," the school said in a statement.
The school administration is also been accused: it has been revealed that the teacher has been accused not only by the present but also by the passed out girl students. The students said that the teacher also taught the children in an online class wearing a towel. Not only that, the teacher has also been accused of sending lewd text messages to the girl students. According to media reports, students have now also started an online campaign against the teacher. Many students spoke through social media and shared screenshots in which the teacher had obscene text with the girl students. At the same time, the school management did not take any action against the teacher despite the complaint.
This was followed by screenshots by singer Chinmayi, who is a partner in the Mitu movement from tamil movie Industry. DMK MP Kanimozhi tweeted about it on Monday morning and demanded action. She said: "The allegations of sexual harassment against a teacher at PSBB School, Chennai are shocking. There should be an inquiry and action should be taken against those including school authorities who failed to investigate against the complaints of the students".
