Amritsar:Veteran TIM India cricketer Dinesh Mongia has taken over the reins of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi on Tuesday. He was received by party leaders. Talking about his political innings, Dinesh Mongia said, "I want to join the BJP and serve the people of Punjab. Today, there is no better party for the development of the country than the BJP.

Former Congress MLA Fateh Bajwa, former Akali Dal MLA Gurtej Singh Gudiana, former MP Rajdev Singh Khalsa and retired Punjab Haryana High Court ADC and lawyer Madhumeet have also joined the BJP in Delhi. Dinesh Mongia announced his retirement from all formats of cricket on September 17, 2019. Dinesh Mongia was selected as an all-rounder in Team India.
