Tehreek-e-Hurriyat' wanted to impose Islamic rule in Jammu and Kashmir! Modi government banned the organization

Srinagar: The Central Government of India has taken decisive action against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir by banning Tehreek-e-Hurriyat following the recent ban on the Muslim League Jammu and Kashmir (Masrat Alam Group). Home Minister Amit Shah announced the ban under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), citing the organization's involvement in terrorist activities and its efforts to promote separatism.

Amit Shah conveyed on the social media platform 'X', "Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Jammu and Kashmir, has been declared an 'unlawful organization' under UAPA. This group is engaged in prohibited activities aimed at separating Jammu and Kashmir from India and establishing Islamic rule. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's zero tolerance policy against terrorism, any individual or organization involved in anti-India activities will be promptly thwarted."

The government's notification highlighted Tehreek-e-Hurriyat's role in spreading separatist ideology in Jammu and Kashmir, paying homage to terrorists, encouraging stone-pelting, and rejecting Indian law while advocating for Kashmir's separation from India. This move comes within four days of the ban on Muslim League Jammu and Kashmir (Masrat Alam Group), emphasizing the government's commitment to curbing terrorist activities in the region.

Home Minister Amit Shah explained that organizations banned under UAPA can face criminalization of their members and the confiscation of their assets. The Unlawful Activities Prevention Act allows the central government to designate an organization as 'illegal' or 'terrorist,' commonly referred to as 'restriction.'

As of now, 43 organizations in India have been declared terrorist organizations and banned by the Home Ministry. This list includes various Khalistani organizations and globally recognized groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, LTTE, and Al Qaeda.
