Hyderabad: A police officer in Telangana got into an over 60-feet-deep well to save two labourers from death due to asphyxiation. The incident was reported from Madipalli village of the state, about 140 kms from Hyderabad. On Tuesday, police inspector Koripelly Sujan Reddy received a call that two labourers were stuck in a well they were digging as they were not getting oxygen.

Without waiting for help from the fire brigade, Inspector Reddy went down the manhole. Later the fire brigade reached the spot and a ladder was used to assist the rescue of two men.

"We received information from locals that two persons were trapped inside a well. We immediately reached the spot and had also informed the fire brigade. When we reached the spot, people had gathered around the well but no one was willing to get inside it. So, I climbed down the well with the help of a rope and brought the two persons safely out. I am very happy that I could save them," an ANI report quoted Inspector Reddy as saying.

“I just got one rope and went inside. My presence inside gave them some hope that there is effort going on to rescue them. I held both of them and started struggling to bring them out. By then, the fire tender arrived. We three got its help to come out safely”, Sujan narrated the situation to Mirror.
