Hyderabad: Telangana has created a new record in crop collection. This time, 48.89 lakh tonnes of paddy were purchased from over 11 lakh farmers. It is the highest in the Kharif season after the formation of the state. During the last Kharif season, 47.08 lakh tonnes were collected through 3,670 paddy procurement centres.

Chief Minister KCR "We purchased 48.89 lakh tonnes of paddy through 68.506 purchase centres from 11 lakh farmers and 9,224 directly deposited Rs 9,086 crore. In to the farmers' bank accounts for the crores of paddy. The remaining amount will be deposited in a few days. "

All the products were purchased from farmers at a minimum support price of Rs 1,888 per quintal (MSP). "The Chief Minister blamed the discussion of all the people who said that agriculture was not possible in the Deccan plateau. They have proved that this land can produce more than 10 million tonnes of paddy every year. "

Telangana is the second largest paddy buyer in the country. The Civil Supplies Department purchased 11.1 million tonnes of paddy in 2019-20 and made Telangana the second largest paddy buyer in the country. Telangana is the top in the country in the rainy season, by cultivating paddy in about 53 lakh acres.
