Varanasi: A 25-year-old youth drowned while he had gone to fetch Ganga water for worship in Chaubeypur area of Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Sunday. He was the only brother of two sisters. The incident took place at Muridpur Parnapur Ghat. At the same time, a South Indian pilgrim died due to drowning in the Ganges at Shivala Ghat in Varanasi.   

According to the report, it has been reported about the accident in Muridpur Parnapur that Abhishek Chaubey alias Roshan (16) son Jaiprakash Choubey had gone to get water for worship with a friend of the village. During this time, during the bath, he drowned due to slipping in deep water. On receiving information, the police started searching for him with the help of local divers. About 5 hours later, there was a ruckus as soon as his body was recovered. His father Jai Prakash Choubey has been ill for the last 6 months. He fell unconscious on the news of his son's death. Mother Pushpa and sisters Nandani and Neelu have been crying badly. He was a student of Class 10 at Sri Subhash Inter College in Chaubeypur.

At the same time, 46-year-old Srinivas drowned after he went into deep water while bathing in the Ganges in front of Shivala Ghat in Bhelupur police station area.   Police seized the body and sent it for post-mortem.   After the death of her husband, wife Anika, who was present on the ghat, is crying badly.
