New Delhi: The Delhi Commission for Women has rescued a 21-year-old girl from her parents' home. The father had tied his daughter in the house since June 7. The only mistake for the daughter was that she married a boy of another caste. The girl's father became so angry that he imprisoned his daughter in the room.

The two met at a college at Delhi University and knew each other for more than two years. She got married on June 7, 2019, at an Arya Samaj temple, after which the girl went to her house and tried to persuade her father. Her father was interracial and against marriage in another state after which he locked the girl in the house. The boy hails from Uttar Pradesh and the girl from Haryana.

The case was revealed when the girl's husband suddenly met a victim a few days ago, who was rescued by the Delhi Commission for Women from Qutub Vihar in 2017. The boy then decided to seek the help of the Delhi Commission for Women to get his wife released. The boy contacted the commission and explained his problem. On receiving the complaint, a team of Delhi Commission for Women along with the local police reached the girl's residence. Initially, the girl's father denied that their girl was not at home. But the commission team noticed that there is no room in captivity. Even after the father's protest, the team entered and rescued the girl.
