Patna: An incident of rape of an 80-year-old woman has come to light in the Pirbahor police station area of Bihar's capital Patna. The locals and relatives nabbed the two criminals and thrashed them and handed them over to the police. The relatives of the victim have made a written complaint in this case. The police registered a case and arrested the two criminals. Both have been identified as Virendra Saini and Sanjay Saw. Pirbahor SHO Sabih-ul-Haq said the culprit, 22-year-old Virendra, originally from Muzaffarpur, drives an e-rickshaw in the Pirbahor police station area. Sanjay lives in a hut on Exhibition Road.
The matter is late Saturday night. Two youths were raping the woman near the hut in the Pirbahor police station area, but when some people passed by, the two criminals fled. The old woman narrated the story to the local people and relatives present there. There were also injury marks on the woman's face. To escape, a criminal's gamcha and mobile phone were left on the spot. Police reached out to the culprit Virendra through his mobile and nabbed him. When the locals started beating him up, they said that Sanjay had raped her.
In another incident, an incident of attempted rape of a 5-year-old daughter has come to light in Patna's Shastri Nagar police station area on Monday. The rickshaw driver living in an area has lodged a complaint against a friend for misbehaving with his daughter. SHO Ram Shankar Singh said that the culprit has escaped. The case is being investigated by the police.
