New Delhi: In the last 196 days, 862 new cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in the country. With this, the total number of people found infected has increased to 4,46,44,938 while the number of active patients has come down to 22,549. According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am on Tuesday, the death toll has increased to 5,28,980 after three people died due to infection. It is being told that two cases of death came to light after the state of Kerala combined the figures.

Let us also tell you that earlier on April 11, the lowest 796 cases were reported in the country. The health ministry said that the number of active cases is 0.05 per cent of the total infections, while the national recovery rate is 98.76 per cent. In fact, in the last 24 hours, 644 people have been reported to have recovered from the infection. With this, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.35 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 1.02 per cent, according to the Health Ministry.

The number of people who have recuperated from the infection surged to 4,40,93,409, while the case fatality rate stands at 1.18 per cent. According to the Health Ministry, 219.56 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive. The number of coronavirus cases in the country crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 2020, and 40 lakh on September 5, 2020.

It went past 50 lakh on September 16, 2020, 60 lakh on September 28, 2020, 70 lakh on October 11, 2020, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 2020, and surpassed 90 lakh on November 20. At the same time, on December 19, 2020, the number of infected in the country exceeded one crore. Apart from this, the number of infected had crossed two crores on May 4 last year and three crores on June 23 and on January 25 this year, the infection cases had crossed four crores.
