Guwahati: The Himanta Biswa Sarma government of Assam is going to complete two years. As part of the second anniversary celebrations, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will distribute appointment letters to 44,703 people at an event to be held here on Thursday (May 25). This event will be the biggest appointment letter distribution ceremony of Assam. Let us tell you that before the 2021 assembly elections, the BJP had promised to provide 1 lakh jobs to the youth of the state when it came to power. This appointment letter distribution ceremony is part of that promise.

According to the report, CM Sarma said in the press conference on Tuesday that, 'After these appointments, the number of jobs in the last two years will be 88,000. The recruitment process for the remaining 22,776 posts will start soon.' He informed that the Assam government will bring an ordinance which will allow new recruits to be posted in any department as per the requirements of the government.

CM Sarma informed that his government was earlier targeting to provide more than 45,000 appointments in this event. However, this figure could not be completed as some of the candidates who applied under PWD category were not able to clear the medical examinations. He said, 'We will take legal action and arrest the doctors who gave false medical certificates to these candidates saying that they are handicapped. The arrests will start from next month.'
