There will be liquor and traffic restrictions in Hyderabad today in view of Ganesh Nimarjan

Hyderabad: Liquor shops, toddy shops and pubs in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will remain closed from 9 am today to 6 pm on Monday to prevent any untoward incident in view of Ganesh Nirjan. Meanwhile, traffic restrictions will remain in force from 6 am today till Monday morning and people traveling towards airports and railway stations were advised to take alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.

Trucks from other states and districts have been barred from entering the city from Saturday midnight. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the Ganesh Visarjan procession on the instructions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, the 320-km procession. The procession will cover a distance of about 320 kms covering the entire GHMC boundary. Minister Talasani said 19,000 police personnel have been deployed on a crane and a statue for the procession.

In view of the Ganesh idol immersion procession, TSRTC buses will be diverted at some places in Hyderabad. Also, buses are allowed from districts to the outskirts of the city. Vehicles coming from Nalgonda will be allowed up to LB Nagar and those coming from Warangal and Devarakonda will be allowed up to Uppal and Sagar Ring Road respectively. Vehicles coming from Mahbubnagar will be stopped at the rest house. Traffic will be updated from time to time in Google Maps.
