Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav held his last Janata Darshan at his official residence on Wednesday and announced today that there will be no more public hearings of accusation at his official residence.

Chief Minister’s office said on twitter, "There will be no Janata Darshan from today onwards", but did not provide any reason.

According to sources, “the decision has been taken with the view of approaching assembly elections and possible engagements of the chief minister in political events.”

When Mulayam Singh Yadav became the chief minister of the state for the first time, the programme – Janata Darshan- was started as the CM used to invite people at his residence with their grumbles and then try to deal with their concerns immediately.
