The time of Ramayana is considered to be the period of conflict between Dharma and Adharma, in which both heroes and villains played an important role. In the wars fought during this period, such weapons were used which are considered to be more powerful and destructive than today's modern bombs, missiles and rockets. Let us know about these major weapons of Ramayana, which are compared to today's nuclear bombs and missiles.

Brahmastra: The Most Powerful Weapon

As soon as we hear the name of Brahmastra, we get a feeling of its glory and power. This weapon is mentioned in both Ramayana and Mahabharata. Brahmastra was so powerful that it could be used only once in a lifetime. It is compared to today's Brahmos missile and nuclear bomb. In Ramayana, Vibhishan and Laxman had this weapon, while in Mahabharata, Acharya Dronacharya, Ashwatthama, Krishna, Arjun and Karna had it.

Gandharvastra: The invisible threat to Asuras

Gandharvastra was used to kill 14 thousand demons. This weapon was with Ravana and its specialty was that due to its effect, the demons could see only Ram everywhere, due to which they started killing each other. But Lord Ram neutralized this weapon.

Prasvana: The way to defeat Ravana

Prasravana was a weapon used by Lord Rama to kill Ravana. Ravana was blessed with immortality and could not die due to Amrit. Ramji used Prasravana to remove the Amrit from Ravana's body, which made his death possible. Vibhishana gave information about this weapon to Lord Rama.

Manavastra: Rama's weapon against Maricha

Manavastra was the weapon used by Lord Rama on Maricha. Maricha had taken the form of a golden deer and helped Ravana in kidnapping Sita. Maricha was killed using this weapon.

Lakshman had many powerful weapons

Lakshman had many types of powerful weapons, which he used in the war against Meghnad. The main ones were:

  • Varunastra: Weapon powered by water.
  • Saurashtra: Powered by solar energy.
  • Maheshwar: Blessed weapon of Lord Shiva.
  • Indrastra : Weapon given by Lord Indra.
  • Nagapasha: A weapon imbued with the power of a snake, meant to bind the enemy.

These weapons used during the times of Ramayana were not just unique, but their power and destructive capability were also unmatched. Even today they are compared to modern bombs and missiles, but these weapons were very powerful not only from the technical point of view but also from the mental and spiritual point of view. These weapons made the wars of Ramayana decisive and ensured the victory of truth.
