Patna: There has been a lot of uproar in Bihar over the controversial statement given by Education Minister Chandrashekhar on Ramcharitmanas. The BJP is continuously besieging the Nitish government on this issue. Meanwhile, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said that the Education Minister has been asked to withdraw the statement. Not only this, Nitish Kumar said that we have already explained to the Education Minister. 

Recently in Bihar, Education Minister and RJD leader Chandrashekhar gave a controversial statement regarding Ramcharitramanas. Education Minister Chandrashekhar, while addressing the students at the convocation of Nalanda Open University in Patna, described Ramcharitmanas as a book that spreads hatred and divides society. There has been controversy regarding this statement of the Education Minister. Even Nitish's party has distanced itself from this statement.

Earlier, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had expressed his displeasure amid the questions arising on the statement on Tuesday. He had said, 'Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, and Christian... People of all religions have the right to worship in their own way. Any kind of interference in their work is not right.' Nitish was asked do you expected Professor Chandrashekhar will withdraw his controversial statement. On this Nitish said that I have spoken to him on this issue. The Chief Minister also said that the Deputy Chief Minister (Tejashwi Yadav) has also made his stand clear on the matter. Further, the CM of Bihar said, 'The alliance cannot be derailed because of any personal statement. I want to tell everyone that the old thing should be left behind, this issue should not be dragged forward.'
