Bangalore: Amidst the ongoing controversy over hijab/burqa in Karnataka, a video of a Congress leader Mukarram Khan is becoming fiercely viral on social media. In this video that surfaced on 17 February 2022, Mukarram Khan is saying that, 'Whoever is stopping our children from wearing the hijab, they will be torn to pieces'. After this statement of the Congress leader, an FIR has been registered against him in Kalburgi. Let us inform that, at present, the hearing in this matter is going on in the Karnataka High Court and till the final order, the court has asked not to wear any religious clothes in all educational institutions. So in such a situation, the question arises whether the Congress leader has threatened to tear into pieces the judges of the High Court or those educational institutions, which are trying to keep all children equal due to the right to equality of the Constitution.

 

In the video, Mukarram Khan is saying, 'What clothes are he wearing. They are asking to remove the hijab by wearing saffron clothes. Hijab is banned. Whoever is stopping our children from wearing the hijab will be torn to pieces. Please inform that Mukarram Khan is a former district panchayat member from Sedam in Kalaburgi district of Congress. Hindu organizations have protested against this statement of Mukarram. They had gathered outside the Sedam police station in Kalaburgi. He has demanded strict action by registering a case against Mukarram. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) district secretary Shivakumar has lodged a complaint with the police. Shivakumar has said that, 'The person who has given this controversial statement should not spread. We can also make such a statement. But we do not want to create disturbance in the society.

Earlier, the controversial statement of another Congress leader Jamir Ahmed went viral on social media. In this, Zameer Ahmed said that women who do not wear hijab are raped. Ahmed had said that, 'Hijab means veil in Islam. When the girl/girl grows up, she wears hijab, that is, to hide her beauty, she is put on hijab. Jamir had said that, 'Today you see rape is increasing rapidly in India. All this is because women do not live in curtains. It is not from today and is not even mandatory. But those who want to hide their beauty, want to protect it, those people wear hijab. It is not from today, it has been for years.
