Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, congratulated TMC supporters on their party's founding day on Saturday and pledged to enhance the country's federal structure. On January 1, 1998, Banerjee left the Congress and formed the TMC.

"On #TMCFoundationDay, I send my warmest greetings to all of our workers, supporters, and Maa-Mati-Manush family members." "Our journey began on January 1st, 1998, and we have been dedicated to helping people and safeguarding their wellbeing ever since," she said on Twitter.

Banerjee, West Bengal's stormy petrel, led her TMC to a resounding win in the 2021 assembly elections, becoming the state's third straight chief minister. "As we begin a new year, let us pledge to remain together in our battle against all forms of injustice." Let us be kind and respectful to one another. Let us work together to enhance this country's federal system. "I appreciate you everybody for their blessings," she expressed her wishes on Twitter.

The TMC emerged from the Congress womb in 1998 and, after two failed efforts in 2001 and 2006, defeated the mighty Left Front regime in 2011, riding the crest of widespread popular indignation against communists.
