The Punjab government is engaged in efforts to reduce expenditure. Under which the government has decided to recharge the mobile phones of the employees themselves, by discontinuing the telephone-mobile allowance being given to the employees. The Finance Department has also prepared the proposal and given it to the government. The government has also started the exercise to contact mobile companies. However, there is no proposal to cut any amount of Rs 15,000 given as telephone-mobile allowance to MLAs-Ministers.

For your information, let us tell you that in the form of telephone allowance to the employees, Rs. 500 per month for Group-A officers and employees, Rs. 300 for Group-B officers and employees and Rs. 250 for Group-C and Group-D employees. Month is being given. In the proposal, if the government itself recharges the mobiles of the employees, then it will have to pay Rs 250, 125 rupees, 100 rupees and 100 rupees respectively. The government will save from 50 to 75 percent. In this case, the government is trying to sign an agreement with a mobile company that gives a monthly package of 125 rupees.

Apart from this, if the employee uses more data, then the bill coming after 125 rupees has to be filled from his pocket. On the other hand, the conclaves Sukhchain Singh Khaira and Manjit Singh Randhawa of Punjab and Chandigarh, the common platform, protested against the decision and said that the Finance Minister should implement this decision first. He said that at present, all the ministers of the government are taking a monthly telephone allowance of Rs 15,000, which is a direct financial burden on the government.
