Ranchi: A tragic accident shook Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, as a pickup collided horrifically, resulting in the immediate loss of three lives, while leaving several others severely injured. The passengers were en route to a pond to offer Arghya to Lord Sun as part of the Chaiti Chhath Puja festivities. The accident occurred in Ratu, Ranchi.
Reportedly, residents from Chatakpur were traveling to Chhathghat in Ratu in a pickup truck early in the morning to pay homage to Lord Surya. However, before reaching Chhath Ghat, the pickup lost balance and crashed into the divider near the Shiva temple in Ratu's Kathitad, flipping over onto the road.
Tragically, a tractor approaching from the opposite direction inadvertently struck the individuals who had been thrown onto the road due to the collision. Three individuals lost their lives on the spot, while over six others sustained injuries, with two women in critical condition. They have been rushed to RIMS Hospital in Ranchi for urgent medical attention.
The deceased have been identified as Kamla Devi, Kaushalya Devi, and a young girl, all residents of Chatakpur. Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth expressed profound sorrow over the harrowing road accident coinciding with the auspicious day of Chhath Puja, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
