New Delhi: India has also joined the race to make coronavirus vaccine. As the coronavirus cases are increasing it has become the need of the hour to bring coronavirus vaccine as soon as possible. The death toll is also increasing and seeing the circumstances Government has increased the testing and also the vaccine trials have picked up pace in India. Currently, India is working on three coronavirus drugs which are under different phases of trials.

Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi announced from the Red Fort on August 15, that India is also among the nations preparing for covid19 vaccine. Currently, 2 Covid-19 vaccine trials are going on in India, while all preparations have been made to start the vaccine trial. The third vaccine in the country is of Oxford University, which is being helped by the Serum Institute of India. The vaccine of Hindustan Biotech International Limited in the country is called 'Covaxin'. The second vaccine is being prepared by Zydus Cadila Healthcare Limited.

According to information, ICMR Director General Balram Bhargava has told the members of Parliament's Standing Committee of Home Affairs that the vaccine drug developed by India Biotech, Cadila and Serum Institute of India is currently undergoing various trials. He said that the vaccine being produced by Bharat Biotech and Zydus Cadila is near completion of the second place clinical trials. He has indicated that if the government approves, then the distribution of the vaccine will start soon and a road map for this is already being prepared.
