AGARTALA:The Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura inaugurated the first virtual court for traffic e-challan matters in Tripura on Wednesday. The inaugural function was attended by Justice S Talapatra, Justice T Amarnath Goud, Justice Arindam Lodh, Justice SG Chottapadhyay, and prominent state government officials.

"The High Court of Tripura is celebrating yet another milestone today, as a virtual court for traffic e-challan matters has been set up. This eliminates the necessity for plaintiffs to appear in court to pay fines ", remarked Justice Mohanty at the event.

The top justice stated, "Litigants are the centre of the judiciary," "We all fall under the canopy of the Constitution, regardless of who we are or what category we work in - judges, registration officers, and police officers, for example. Everything we do or don't do is in the service of our country's people ".

E-court was introduced in the state so that litigants do not have to come to the court for justice. "I praised Justice Talapatra for his tremendous work in building several judicial amenities under the guidance of the Supreme Court's e-court committee," Justice Mohanty said. Tripura is one of the leading states in the country when it comes to offering services to litigants. Justice Mohanty further praised the state administration for providing the High Court with unwavering assistance.

While speaking at the event, Justice Talapatra urged the state government to make every effort to popularise the virtual court for e-challan cases.
