New Delhi: The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) had to be halted midway due to corona. The remaining matches will now begin in Dubai from September 19, but BCCI is gearing up for the 15th edition of IPL, the IPL-2022. Two new teams will participate in the IPL in the 15th edition. That means there will be a total of ten teams in the next IPL. Sources say Ahmedabad, Lucknow as well as Cuttack, Guwahati are also named in the race for new teams. Meanwhile, Kochi city is also among the big contenders. By the way, most of the teams are to be formed in Ahmedabad, Lucknow.

Let us share that recently BCCI invited bids for two new IPL teams. It has a base price of Rs 2000 crore for a team. However, the total price of both the teams is expected to go above Rs 5000 crore. BCCI has also made it clear that companies with annual income less than Rs 3,000 crore per annum cannot bid. On the other hand, it is speculated that adani group, RPSG group may come among the buyers of the new teams. On the other hand, renowned pharmaceutical company Torrent is also expected to be in the race.

Talking to the media, a BCCI official said that many companies are welcome if they bid together. Sources claim that three companies may also get the right to bid together. State that the last date for filling the tenders floated by the BCCI for the two new teams has been fixed as October 5. Bid documents can be purchased for Rs 75 crore. It may also cancel BCCI later.
