AMROHA:  In a tragic incident, a five-year-old boy in the Amroha region of Uttar Pradesh slipped into a pot of hot "dal" and die while being on way to the hospital.

The incident happened on Tuesday as a "mundan" ceremony was taking place at a residence in the village of Karanpur Sutari.

Prashant, the child, was taken urgently to the hospital, but he died there.

As per the Police statement, the deceased was the son of Sushil Singh, a farmer, and was playing inside the room where the hot vessel was kept.

"We were looking after guests when Prashant walked inside, climbed atop the bed, and started jumping when he unintentionally fell into the hot pot located nearby," the child's father said. 

We immediately rushed to a nearby hospital right after, where he was treated before being sent to a larger hospital in Meerut, but he died while the route." We have not yet received a complaint from the victim's relatives in this situation, Amroha SP Aditya Langeh said. 

Later in the day, the boy's final rites were performed."
