Lucknow: The state of Uttar Pradesh is all set to host the grand 'Meri Maati, Mera Desh' program, scheduled from August 9 to August 30, in commemoration of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and as a heartfelt tribute to our valiant martyrs and freedom fighters.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Friday, meticulously assessed the preparations for the upcoming ''Meri Maati Mera Desh'' event, which will be held with great pomp and fervor on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day.

"The essence of this event lies in paying homage to our beloved nation," stated Adityanath, underscoring the significance of this endeavor.

The 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' celebration will revolve around the central theme of ''mitti ko naman, veeron ko vandan'' (saluting the land, honoring the heroes), he announced with pride.

Expressing his earnest desire, Adityanath said, ''I call upon every citizen of Uttar Pradesh to actively participate in this sacred and patriotic campaign,'' as he voiced his unwavering commitment to promoting unity and love for the motherland.

Notably, the Central Government has also taken the decision to organize 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' events nationwide from August 9-15, culminating the grand 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebration.

During the meeting, Adityanath emphasized on devising a comprehensive action plan in consultation with all district magistrates to ensure the resounding success of the event.

He further urged the inclusion of cultural events that reflect patriotism, as well as street plays, among other engaging activities, to be held throughout the celebratory period from August 9 to August 15.
