LUCKNOW: Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, has ordered officials to make sure that "Upala" (cow dung cakes) obtained from stray cow protection centres makes up 50% of the total fuel (wood) used in cremation fires at crematoriums in the state.

The state government has made the necessary measures for the care of the homeless/stray cattle as well as for their feed " he said. He also  instructed authorities to "guarantee that stray livestock are taken care of in all the rural and urban areas of the state."
