On Friday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched and laid the foundation for five major development projects in Sonbarsa, Gorakhpur, with a total investment of Rs 635 crore, an official announcement reads. In his address, Adityanath emphasized that the path to a prosperous future for current and future generations hinges on robust development and security models.
He encouraged citizens to back government initiatives rather than impede them, highlighting their importance for a better future.
Adityanath discussed plans to foster entrepreneurship by providing interest-free loans to young people in two stages. In the first phase, loans of up to Rs 5 lakh will be available, followed by loans of up to Rs 10 lakh in the second phase. Beneficiaries will only need to repay the principal amount, with the government covering the interest.
The Chief Minister also directed officials to build four-lane roads while ensuring that existing homes are not demolished, even if it requires modifying the road plans. Additionally, he instructed that compensation for land affected by these projects be quadrupled.
To enhance security, a new police station will be constructed in Sonbarsa. Adityanath urged villagers to use compensation funds to purchase land in remote areas and start new ventures.
He praised the progress of India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting that the country is now a global economic powerhouse, moving from being the fifth-largest economy to potentially the third-largest within the next three years. Adityanath emphasized Uttar Pradesh's crucial role in this growth.
Reflecting on past challenges, he pointed out that Gorakhpur has seen significant improvements. Where once there were serious issues like encephalitis and general chaos, the current government has successfully addressed these problems, along with improving law and order.
Adityanath concluded by noting that Gorakhpur, once overlooked by outsiders, now hosts visits from top national leaders, including the President, Vice President, and Prime Minister.
