LUCKNOW: The Kerala Story, a recently released movie, will be tax-free in Uttar Pradesh, the state administration declared on Tuesday. Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the news on Twitter. Now that Madhya Pradesh has done so, Uttar Pradesh is the second state to proclaim the contentious movie to be "tax-free."

Adityanath could view the movie with his cabinet members at a special screening that will be held at Lok Bhawan, the chief minister's secretariat added.

Raghvendra Mishra, the UP BJP secretary, recently accompanied up to 100 female students to the movie in Lucknow.

'Tax-free' in Madhya Pradesh: The Kerala Story The movie was deemed "tax-free" in Madhya Pradesh last week.

The movie demonstrates how daughters who fall victim to the love jihad trap have their lives devastated. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister, stated in a video message that it also reveals the terrorists' strategic planning.

"Even though we've previously passed a legislation prohibiting forced conversion, the movie raises awareness of the problem. All should watch this movie, which is why the Madhya Pradesh government has declared it tax-free, he said.

The Kerala Story is banned in Bengal. In order to prevent "any incident of hatred and violence," West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday imposed an immediate ban on the exhibition of the divisive movie "The Kerala Story" in the state.

Anurag Thakur, a Union Minister, questioned why the Trinamool Congress(TMC) chairman would have sympathy with terrorist organisations rather than the innocent girls from Kerala when West Bengal became the first state to outlaw the movie. Thakur also saw the movie in a Delhi movie theatre.

Vipul Shah, the film's producer, stated that they would file a lawsuit to challenge the TMC government's prohibition.

"The CM has ordered an immediate ban on showing of 'The Kerala Story' in order to prevent any incidents of hatred and violence and to maintain calm in the state.
