Lucknow: In Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, a groom absconded on the pretext of getting facials done on his wedding day. The groom was not found even on the second day. When the groom did not come till late at night, the family members tied a veil on his younger brother's head. Both were married late at night in Bareilly. The bride accepted the brother-in-law as her husband. The couple reached home in the afternoon. The marriage took place, but the joy was missing due to the absence of the real groom.

The youth, a resident of the village under the Bilsanda police station area, had fixed his son's marriage with Bareilly Fatehganj West. The boy was not happy with the relationship. Even after that, the wedding date of February 1 was fixed. Marriage place, caterer, band everything has been booked. On January 28, the girls' side brought Tilak to the village. Tilak was done, but the glow of the groom's face was missing. The relatives could not understand this. On Wednesday afternoon, drums were being played in the house in preparation for the procession, but in the meantime, the groom ran away from the house.

Actually, the groom had gone from the house saying that he would get his facials and bleach done. After the groom went missing, the father reached the police station and gave a complaint. When the groom did not return till late at night, the family members talked to the girl's side. Due to local law, the younger brother of the groom was persuaded to complete the marriage. Earlier he was also not ready. He reached Bareilly in his brother's sherwani with a procession. Bilsanda SHO Achal Kumar said that the police are investigating. Soon the groom will also be found.
