Lucknow: A horrific road accident has occurred in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh. Four women and three children who came here on a pilgrimage were crushed by a high-speed bus on Friday morning, killing all seven. All these people were sleeping on the roadside. Meanwhile, the bus came and trampled the sleeping pilgrims. After the accident, there was an atmosphere of chaos on the spot.
After receiving the information of the accident, the police reached the spot and started rescue work. All the travellers returning to visit Vaishno Devi reached Gandhi Ganga Ghat in Narora at around 2 am on Friday. The pilgrims were sleeping on the roadside near Narora Ghat after bathing in the Ganges river. It is being told that three of those killed in the accident were from Hathras and two from Aligarh and two from Ferozabad.
Giving information about the accident, the police said that the driver of the bus escaped from the spot after the accident. Police have delivered all the bodies for postmortem. The police have registered a case by taking the bus into possession and are on the lookout for the absconding driver.
