Lucknow: A case of love jihad has come to light from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh. According to the victim, Waseem Ansari had started a conversation with her by calling himself a Brahmin. He gave his name to the victim as Ravi Sharma. The accused physically abused her for five years. After this, when the victim came to know about her reality, the accused threatened to make the video viral. Police have registered a case and started an investigation.

According to media reports, the victim came in contact with Waseem in 2017 and she was only 16 years old then. Waseem introduced the girl over the phone and gave her his name Ravi Sharma. Gradually, the victim got caught in Waseem's trap. During this time the two met. Later, Waseem started sexually exploiting her. According to the victim, 'I am a Brahmin. Whenever I used to protest against sexual abuse with me, Ravi Sharma or Wasim used to promise to marry me. Thus he raped me for 5 years. One day I checked his Facebook profile, then I came to know that he is not Ravi, but Wasim. Also, I came to know about him being a resident of Izzatnagar Bareilly. He used to do the work of installing tiles in the houses.

"I asked Waseem about his Facebook profile, so he said, "Sorry, I am not Ravi, but Waseem. After that, I broke up with him and asked him to stay away from me. But even after this Wasim did not agree and one day after drinking alcohol entered my house. He abused me by making my pictures viral, threatening to defame me and leaving me nowhere to show my face.

According to a report, in February 2022, the accused reached the victim's house in a drunken state. There he hurled abuses. When the victim lodged a complaint with the police, Waseem apologised. Even after this, he continued to threaten to make the picture of the victim viral. On April 24, he once again went to the victim's house. During this time, he dragged the girl with him. People gathered nearby and they protested against it. During this time Waseem ran away from there.
