The priest of the temple has said that after climbing the six feet high wall of the temple, someone had placed an egg on the Shivling installed inside the temple. In the morning, when I woke up to recite the worship, an egg was found on the Shivling. The egg has been removed. He has further said about this that some people are trying to spoil the atmosphere of Prayagraj once again. But we will not let this happen. The priest told that a case is going to be registered against those who spoil the atmosphere. The Koteshwar Mahadev temple in Prayagraj's Shivkuti, in which such a dirty deed was done, has a lot of respect. This is the reason that there is a lot of anger among the local people regarding this incident. Shivkuti councillor Kamlesh Tiwari has said that this temple situated on the banks of the Ganges was established by Lord Rama with his own hands. Therefore it has great importance in Sanatan Dharma. At the same time, Rajendra Prasad Dwivedi, the convener of the International Brahmin Mahasabha, has demanded that policemen should be deployed in the temple and CCTV cameras are going to be installed.
