Dehradun: The destruction of a walkway at Sangad, a place between Milam Dung, has disrupted the supply of logistics to the army and ITBP along the China border. Foodgrains and other essential commodities are not reaching the forward posts for the soldiers. After the highest rainfall in the recent past, several places have collapsed between the Milam Dung Pedestrian Route and Sangad connecting the China border. Security agencies and people in migration villages are also facing problems due to the demolition of footpaths at several places in the lower reaches of Milam.

The same people are moving at the risk of their lives. Contractor Kundan Pangati, who supplied the same to ITBP and the army, said that the road has been reported to SDM Bhagat Singh Fonia. SDM has directed to fix the routes leading to the border at the earliest. The cutting of the five km long road of PMGSY from Badabe Dhari Beltri to Quarban has been completed. After completion of the road cutting, the residents of the area were expected to get an early traffic facility but due to the recent disaster, the entire road has been covered with debris.

The loss due to the same disaster is estimated to be around Rs 25 lakh. A bridge is yet to be constructed on this road. The residents of the area have demanded the department to clear the debris of the road at the earliest and make the traffic smooth by constructing a bridge. The same CM's native village Tundi is still waiting for the road and teachers.
