High court orders ban on making LT teachers superintendent gazetted

The High Court has prohibited the promotion of two LT grade teachers to the posts of Superintendent Gazetted in Scheduled Tribe Adarsh Schools run under the Social Welfare Department. Along with this, according to the case, Dehradun residents Premlata Sehgal and Preity had filed a petition in the High Court, stating that the Social Welfare Department on 25 May 2020 promoted some teachers of LT grade to the gazetted post of Superintendent of ST Adarsh Schools, which rules Against this, the petition said that in 2005, CT grade was merged with LT grade.

For your information, let us tell you that currently the grade pay of teachers of LT grade is 4600, while the superintendent of Adarsh Vidyalaya has a grade pay of 4200. Thus the candidate with higher grade pay cannot be promoted to the post of lower grade pay. At the same time, after hearing the sides, the High Court's single bench has sought a reply from the promoted candidates, prohibiting the promotion to the gazetted posts of Superintendent of Adarsh Schools.
