New Delhi: The corona epidemic is still creating panic in every part of the country, while cases of viral fever among children are on the rise in Delhi and NCR areas. Doctors have also expressed concern over the increasing number of viral cases in the capital region. About 25 to 30 per cent of children admitted to OPD are children who are suffering from fever with symptoms like cold, cough and fever in general. These include cases of swine flu along with simple viral cases.

Children suffering from the same viral fever are suffering from fevers from 102 to 103. Such children are also seeing a decline in platelet counts along with high-grade fever. The relief is that dengue and corona tests are coming negative lying in children. Children suffering from viral diseases are suffering from fever, vomiting, diarrhoea as well as difficulty breathing.

There is a need to be more vigilant in view of the growing havoc of the same viral fever. Whenever children leave the house, leave home wearing masks, wash their hands with soap whenever they come home. Drink a lot of water every day, but make sure the water is boiled. Be sure to have at least 6 to 7 glasses of liquid diet. Use fruits and vegetables containing vitamin C as much as you can. Include mushrooms, lemon and honey in the diet. At the same time, keep children away from junk food.
